- ★ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆The people there are so rude and I been request for adopt a dog 5 times arredy and never ever got a call from them pluz the front desk people never ever have good attitud always so ugly costumer serviceBy Deisy Solorio, September 11, 2017
- ★ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆This place is awful. When i arrived the front desk lady walked in at the same time as me. Before i knew she was a worker i said hello outside and she halfway grinned and didnt respond and then as we walked in the door she rudely said can i help you. I told her we wanted to adopt a small pup so she said follow the blue paws and tell me what kennel number. So we came back in wanting to look at a two. The one had health issues and when i asked her about them she had no idea what any of it meant so she googled it. How do you work at an animal shelter if you cant even explain what is wrong with your pets? Anyway i told her we wanted to play with them and she shoved an application in my face and said fill this out. I did and handed it to her and she started interrogating me. My landlord wouldnt answer so she told us we couldn't adopt. We didnt even get to look at the pups. She was extremely rude the whole time and not wanting to be helpful at all. We are a very nice couple.. clean make good money happy and nice and we wanted to give a pup a good loving home. This woman could care less about helping these animals or finding them a home. It disgusts me that someone like her is even working around those poor animals. I went to a shelter in saint ynez instead dont recommend going here unless you want to be treated like a dirtbag.By Taylor Gonzalez, July 27, 2017
- ★ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆The last few years the staff grew a I don't care attitude. Seems they count on the volunteers for most of it. One girl doesn't work there anymore thank goodness. She had a bad attitude overall and seemed to be a bother for her to be there. I wanted to adopt several times and Everytime I was told my landlord either didn't answer or he said no. I found out he was NEVER notified.By Linda Morgan, July 06, 2017
- ★ ★ ★ ★ ★I have been looking for a dog for several months and stopped by La Paws again. I found Nala. It was late in the afternoon, toward closing, but Olivia brought her out for our meet & greet, and spent patient time discussing her. In the office I asked about any problems, and she went carefully through her medical and behavioral reports. Olivia and Stacy, another caregiver, were very friendly and answered all questions. I volunteered for CAPA several years ago when it was run by the Santa Barbara County and there were problems. Now, the kennels are upgraded and there's a fence and space between the kennels and visitors, which is less stressful for the dogs and safer for people. I like the improvements that have been made. All the staff people I've talked with the last several months are polite, answer my questions and pursue answers when they don't know, explain rules and the adoption process clearly, and truly are committed to the animals they care for. These animals deserve homes but meanwhile, the animals are well cared for. Big thumbs up from me.By D M Carr, April 01, 2017
